it’s about the people who make up our community. That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership with Dandelion Time, a remarkable local charity that’s changing lives through their innovative, nature-based approach to supporting vulnerable children and families.
Starting in Autumn 2024, we’ve made it easier for you to enjoy our legendary fish and chips while giving back to the community. For every portion of fish and chips sold, £1 will be donated to Dandelion Time. With this being one of our most popular dishes, we’re aiming to raise significant funds to help support this important cause throughout the year.
Dandelion Time is a Maidstone-based charity dedicated to helping children and families recover from trauma. Many of the children they support have experienced severe challenges such as domestic abuse, neglect, or bullying, which leave lasting emotional scars. Through therapeutic activities like gardening, cooking, and woodworking, they create a nurturing environment where children can rebuild their confidence and strengthen their bonds with loved ones.
Lizzie Hoskins, Corporate Relationship Manager at Dandelion Time, shared her thoughts on the partnership:
“We are thrilled to be partnering with The Tickled Trout for their new community support campaign. Their generous commitment will help us continue our work supporting vulnerable children and families to achieve lasting, positive change. This partnership will also help us raise awareness in the local community, and we’re excited to welcome the team to our West Farleigh site to see the impact of their support firsthand.”
At The Tickled Trout, we’re inspired by the transformative work of Dandelion Time. Mark Forder, our General Manager, put it best:
“We are passionate about supporting Dandelion Time and their innovative approach to helping children overcome trauma through nature-based activities. Their work is transformative, offering hope and healing to those who need it most. We are proud to be a part of their mission.”
This partnership is part of a wider effort across Balfour, where each of our countryside pubs supports a local charity close to their heart. Whether it’s caring for children, protecting the environment, or helping the elderly, we’re committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve
